What are adaptogens?

Stress.

It makes us tired, it ages us, it gives us aches and pains and a wealth of equally irritating bad vibes to carry around with us as we try to do what we want to do. 

Adaptogens are quite simply plants. They are herbs, berries, roots and mushrooms that possess a unique ability to alleviate those no good, bad vibes. They can help us manage our stress by regulating our bodies stress hormone: cortisol. This means that adaptogens act to help balance us, give us that enviable glow and make us feel good by assisting our bodies to do what they need to do. Whether that be helping our skin, dealing with fatigue or just giving us that extra pep in our step.

Adaptogens are not new but they might be new to your body. If you have any concerns, are taking any medications or suffer from a medical condition, please do consult a health care professional before incorporating adaptogens into your daily routine.
